Bobbi Ericksen

HURRICANE, UTAH - Bobbi Ericksen passed away at home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the age of 64, in Hurricane, Utah. Bobbi was born in Columbus, Nebraska on January 8, 1948, the daughter of Thomas Obal and Cecilia Korus.

After graduation from St. Bonaventure High School in Columbus, she moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While attending the university she began working for the First National Bank of Omaha in 1968. During her 30 year career at First National Bank she met her husband, Richard, and they were married on December 5, 1980. In November of 2000 both Bobbi and her husband retired and moved to Hurricane, Utah. After living in Hurricane for 2 years, she decided she wanted to work part time to stay active. Bobbi applied at the Sears store in St. George, where she has worked for the last 10 years.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Joseph Obal; sister-in-law: Katherine (Kippy) Soulliere; and stepson: Douglas Ericksen. Bobbi is survived by her loving husband; sisters: Betty Obal of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dee Jacobs of Seattle, Washington; brother: Thomas Obal of Columbus, Nebraska; stepdaughter: Kelly McCoy; granddaughter: Tammy Schindler; grandson: Jake Erickson; niece: Tammy Zimmerman; nephews: Douglas Obal, Danny Jacobs, and Jeff Jacobs; very special friends: Luther and Laurie Anderson; along with many other cousins and friends in Nebraska and Utah.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Promise Lutheran Church, 244 South Valley View Drive, St. George, Utah. A memorial service in Nebraska is pending. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pine View Mortuary, 435-986-4222.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers a donation to the American Cancer Society or the New Promise Lutheran Church Building Fund.
